*Functional Communication Measures (FCMs) established by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and assessed by a therapist.
The Moneta program has been designed to help older adults experiencing challenges with areas such as attention, word finding or memory. Individuals with a diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or the early stages of dementia can benefit from the Moneta program. Moneta may help with cognitive impairment due to a variety of underlying causes, including Parkinson’s disease, stroke, traumatic brain injury or Alzheimer’s disease. Many of our patients see benefits related to improving their ability to communicate with family or friends, remembering appointments, or staying focused on daily activities like cooking or reading.
Our results show that on average, patients in the Moneta program make a 15-20% improvement in their cognitive function scores as assessed by their therapist. Patients completing the program also have, on average, a significant improvement in their quality of life score.
*Fun fact: Moneta Health is named after the Roman goddess of memory.
